Hey Folx!
I know this process can be daunting, but therapy is truly one of the best investments you can make in yourself. It’s vital to self-development and to overcome patterns and outcomes we wish would be different.
You might want to know a little bit about how I do things before you reach out. I view our work through a lens of identity, community, trauma-responsiveness, relationship, and sexual multiculturalism. This means I consider how our various social identities and locations, mental health, and behaviors exist within multiple levels of self and are impacted by the communities we are a part of. Through psychoanalytic, feminist, and social justice lenses, I generally work with a variety of individuals who feel like they’ve been “outliers,” “outcasts,” or otherwise operating on the extreme margins in life. I’m fiercely passionate about understanding, advocating, and having compassion for one’s self, while helping to build a sense of community that supports who you are as a uniquely awesome human. I also have training in forensic psychology and neuropsychological assessment, which comes in handy often, and am informed by interpersonal/relational neurobiology.
See my Privilege & Diversity statement below to learn more about how my personal and professional views may impact our work together.
Our work will be collaborative, relational, positive, and dynamic, but it will also be challenging and intense at times. This is hard stuff we’re unpacking. You can expect it to suck sometimes, like really suck, and know that is normal. BUT. You can also expect that change is possible. AND. It could start today. Are you ready?

Social Locations
I strive to promote values of inclusivity, conscious capitalism, and anti-racism, advocating for these things in the communities I am a part of. Although I am ALWAYS learning and growing personally and professionally, I acknowledge that I am a White, cisgender female, temporarily able-bodied, doctor, and a business owner and that those identities come with various privileges that grant me access to resources, money, and safety that some of my colleagues of marginalized identities and individuals I serve do not benefit from. I understand that simply acknowledging my privilege is not sufficient and ongoing, lifelong work is needed to sustain awareness of implicit bias, racism, classism, and more. Some of the ways I continue to work on this include, engaging in ongoing conversations about these issues with the people in my life, attending regular training, engaging in clinical consultations, personal and professional fiction and international non-fiction reading, and intentionally seeking out and supporting businesses owned by marginalized individuals and those of the global majority, among others.
I am queer in my sexual orientation and poly in my relationship orientation. I spend time promoting and educating on sexual inclusivity and sex-positive views and treatment for those who are overpathologized due to sexual orientation, sexual preferences, and gender. How sex and sexuality are viewed in different cultures, generations, societies, and subcultures are important considerations in my work as a psychosexually informed provider.
I am, and always have been, a DISRUPTER and ADVOCATE. I feel empowered and honored to try and change the oppressive systems I work within for the betterment of those impacted by it and our community at large, with an emphasis on decolonizing therapy, people, and experiences.. I proudly marched in the first Women’s March in DC and consider it one of the best experiences of my life.
I am aware that the mental health system, diagnostic system, and criminal justice system are inherently racist. I do my best to consider intersectionality and cultural factors in my conceptualization and treatment of clients, as well as supervise any therapists to do the same.
Consultation & Collaboration
I am a licensed psychologist with degrees in forensic and clinical psychology. I have spent extensive time working within the criminal justice system and those impacted by being in that system, including in a variety of settings (jails, prisons, community-based programs, private practice) and with different populations (men, women, and children; sex, violent, and substance-related offenses). I specialize in helping individuals within the criminal justice system adjust to incarceration, community reintegration, are struggling with substance abuse/addictions, and/or require sex offense treatment. This work essentially amounts to practice and research of carceral psychology.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect at my initial therapy appointment?
The initial session is a 2-hour evaluation to determine goodness of fit between your needs and my services. If it feels like a good fit, we will review options for scheduling future sessions.
Why intensives?
Sometimes the traditional one-hour per week therapy session just doesn’t cut it or it is not a convenient option.
Here’s some reasons you might consider doing an intensive:
- Work and/or family schedules
- Distance
- Time is of the essence
- Readiness to do the work
- Opening up about challenging experiences might take some time for you in order to feel comfortable enough to do the work
Why don’t you take insurance?
Insurance companies place time, cost, and treatment limitations that interfere with my preferred methods of providing care and working on more intensive issues for more extended therapy sessions. Insurance companies also have access to your records, can deny care, and require me to diagnosis you with a mental health condition in order to treat you.

How do I pay?
Payment is securely obtained at the time of booking. An active credit card must on file at all times. The card will be charged at the time of all future bookings. If a card is declined, you will be contacted and the appointment will not be booked until payment is secured. American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are accepted.
What is the cancelation policy?
Because of the preparation and amount of time reserved for these sessions, the full payment is due at the time of booking and is not refundable if canceled or rescheduled.
Do you have a waitlist?
Because of the intensity and time dedicated to these services, I only work with a few clients at time and do often have a waitlist. Please contact me for availability.
